All Inclusive Vacation - Iberostar Rose Hall Resort - Montego Bay, Jamaica

Phase one of all inclusive Iberostar Rose Hall Resort to be completed by Dec 1. BY DECEMBER 1, the first phase of the 980-room Five-star Grupo Iberostar Hotel in Rose Hall, is to be completed for the launch of the 2007 winter tourist season. A total of 350 rooms will be in operation.

On a recent visit to the resort by Hospitality Jamaica, John Long, vice president of sales and marketing for the Iberostar Group, said the builders had managed to accomplish 60 per cent of the work on Phase1 of the project, which will see some 500 Jamaican workers in new jobs.

Original estimates of the project revealed a value of US$110 million, but the group was forced to spend an additional J$18 million reconstructing the beach area to the standard that their guests have become accustomed to.

The Jamaican project is one of its most expensive to date.

Although the designer’s plans were not readily available, the resort is expected to take on the same Spanish colonial style, similar to its sister property, the Paraiso Lindo in Mexico, boasting four different categories of rooms resort view, ocean view, junior suite and four distinct presidential suites.

Phase one will house four restaurants, one which will serve the main buffet, with the other three specialising in à-la-carte dining. The resort will offer a taste of Cajun and Japanese with Tepanyaki, and the Caribbean.

An infinity swimming pool with a swim-up pool bar will grace one section of the resort, while the backdrop of the lobby area will reflect the ocean. “At least two storeys on each side of the buidling will offer true ocean view,” remarked John Long.

Beneath the lobby, the architects have designed a spectacular theatre that will accommodate no less than 800 persons. “This is where we will host Las Vegas-styled shows and orchestras,” said Mr. Long.

Conference facilities are also in the plans and the hotel hopes to accommodate groups as large as 500.

According to the vice president of sales, a popular pastime and favourite jaunt for Grupo Iberostar guests was the Cigar Bar, which its Mexico resorts now boast, so one would be introduced at Rose Hall.

ABOUT IBEROSTAR

Grupo Ibetostar currently owns and operates properties in Cuba, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Sixty-five per cent of its guests are Americans. The group is into the marketing strategy of cross selling to their loyal clients. “Once they experience one of our property, they want to experience others, so we are sure our large clientele will want the Jamaican experience,” stated Mr. Long.
